is originally from Cape Cod, MA and has lived and shown her work in various locations around New York City since 1996.
Her toy theater piece “The Renovation”was shown at the Great Small Works 8th International Toy Theater Festival and Temporary Toy Theater Museum at St. Ann’s Warehouse.

Kara Jansson Kovacev

was born in Barnstable, MA (Cape Cod). She received a BFA in painting and printmaking from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1992 and has lived in New York City since 1996. 


She was a member of the group Collective:Unconscious, a theater collective on Manhattan’s lower east side, and has created set and costume designs, multimedia installations, puppetry and animation.
